Singapore, Dec 10, 2024: Lutfey Siddiqi, Special Envoy of the head of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, on Tuesday held a bilateral meeting with Grace Fu, Singapore Minister for Environment & Sustainability and Minister-in-charge for Trade Relations, at the Ministry of Trade offices in Singapore on Tuesday.
Siddiqi thanked the minister for Singapore’s steadfast support for Bangladesh and engagement with the Interim Government, especially on negotiations for a free trade agreement that officially started last month. “Bangladesh looks forward to a deeper and wider relationship with Singapore that encompasses, amongst other things, trade, investments, and knowledge transfer,” he said.
Fu thanked Siddiqi for his briefing on the reforms agenda of the Interim Government and offered to share the benefit of Singapore’s own experiences as Bangladesh embarks on a historic opportunity to enhance conditions for investment through better governance.
Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Ashik Chowdhury and Bangladesh Commercial Counsellor in Singapore Luthfun Nahar were also present at the meeting.
