DAVOS, January 22: Celebrated Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli called on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on the sideline of the World Economic Forum annual meeting in the Swiss city of Davos on Wednesday.
Bocelli, a visually impaired opera singer, congratulated the Chief Adviser on his assumption of the leadership of the Interim Government. He hoped that Yunus’s visionary leadership would transform the country.
During the meeting, Bocelli’s team briefed Professor Yunus about the work of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, which has in recent years built schools in impoverished countries and disadvantaged communities, including Haiti.
Professor Yunus, who was on the advisory board of the Foundation, urged the famous tenor to expand his charity activities to countries in Asia.
Lamiya Morshed, the SDG coordinator of the Bangladesh government, was also present during the meeting.
