EDCL Holds Annual Sports Competition Award Distribution Ceremony

Dhaka: The Annual Sports Competition Award Distribution Ceremony for the Fiscal Year 2025–2026 of Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL), the government-owned pharmaceutical manufacturing company, was held recently.
The event was attended by officers and employees of EDCL. Trophies and prizes were distributed among the winners and outstanding performers of various sporting events.
The ceremony was graced by A. K. Md. Ashrafuzzaman, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Essential Drugs Company Limited (EDCL), who handed over the trophies and prizes to the winners.
EDCL MD & CEO A. K. Md. Ashrafuzzaman said,
“Alongside professional responsibilities, sports play an important role in ensuring the physical and mental well-being of our officers and employees. Such initiatives significantly contribute to strengthening mutual friendship, team spirit and motivation among employees.
The awards should be distributed immediately after the completion of the sporting events. This helps maintain greater interest among the participants and enhances the joy, enthusiasm and motivation of the winners.
An award ceremony is not merely a formal occasion to recognize the winners; it is also an important means of increasing enthusiasm, motivation and mutual camaraderie among employees.
We want every sports event at EDCL to become an occasion of joy, recreation and stronger bonding among our officers and employees. There is no alternative to sports in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and a positive working environment.
Regular sports and cultural activities help strengthen team spirit, leadership qualities and a sense of cooperation among employees. A vibrant, healthy and united workforce can play a vital role in taking the organization’s development and success to a greater height.”
He congratulated all the participants and winners of the competition and expressed hope that sports and cultural activities at EDCL would be further expanded in the future.
Officials and employees from different levels of EDCL attended the event. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of trophies and prizes among the winners.
