Dissemination meeting of the study on “hepatitis C virus (HCV) among the displaced Rohingya citizens” held today at Coxes Bazar.

BDNewsExpress: Dissemination meeting of our study on “hepatitis C virus (HCV) among the displaced Rohingya citizens of Myanmar”.

The meeting was held at the DC office of Cox’s Bazar.

It was organised by Cox’s Bazar district administration in collaboration with Forum for the Study of the Liver Bangladesh.

Representatives of Cox’s Bazar civil and health administration, NGOs and other stake holders, media, local intellectuals and social elites participated.

Professor Dr. Mamun Al Mahtab Shwopnil said “we study reveals high prevalence of HCV among the Rohingyas. This is a serious health threat for the Bangladeshi people. Our paper was published recently in EuroAsian Journal of Hepato-Gastroenterology. This is the first paper in the world literature on the prevalence of HCV among the Rohingyas”.
